You have two suggested choices for your afternoon during your Highland Perthshire tour:
- Majesty of Highland Perthshire: After lunch in Pitlochry, we take a tour of Blair Castle and enjoy a relaxing stroll of the gardens, maybe even enjoy a sweet treat in the coffee shop.
- Scenery and Beauty of Perthshire: After lunch, we stay within Pitlochry to visit Pitlochry Dam visitor centre before taking a short drive to Queen’s View and then on to Killiecrankie.

Scone Palace, crowing site of the Scottish Kings. Visit Moot Hill, the very site where 38 Kings of Scotland were crowned. Tour the state rooms and admire many of the unique items within their collection including the writing desk of Queen Marie Antoinette. Lose yourself in the tartan star maze and enjoy a tranquil stroll through the arboretum.

Pitlochry village is found within the heart of Highland Perthshire surrounded by glorious scenery and landscapes. Wander the streets of this village, savour tea/coffee and scones (or maybe traditional fish and chips?) and visit an array of independent stores retailing Scottish treats.

→ 20 Minute Drive Queen's View

Gaze in wonder at iconic panoramic views of Loch Tummel from Queen’s View – a view once admired by Queen Victoria on her 1866 trip, as she stated the breath-taking spectacle must have been named after her.

Or dine al fresco and admire the surrounding highland scenery as you breathe in the fresh countryside air at Queen’s View café’s outside seating.
→ 15 Minute Drive to Killiecrankie

Faskally woods between Pitlochry and Killiecrankie is well known for its vibrant and vivid autumn colours. Every year during the dark Scottish autumn evenings, Faskally is lit up and becomes the site of the ‘Enchanted Forest’, a truly unique light and music show.

Site of the Battle of Killiecrankie 1689 – near the beginning of the first Jacobite Rising, when Bonnie Dundee led an army in support of the exiled King James VII & II (father to Bonnie Prince Charlie). For those who enjoy a short hike, the original battle site can be visited after a one mile walk.

Blair Castle, ancestral home of the Clan Murray and seat of the Dukes of Atholl. Read about the Atholl Highlanders – the only remaining private army within Europe, who act as a personal bodyguard to the current Duke. Explore the magnificent ballroom, still used today for the annual Atholl Highlander’s ball and appreciate the beautifully landscaped 18th century gardens.
